Introducing RWR Designs

Ever since I was a little girl, I have been obsessed with having my own store. I would set up shop on my bed and sell random stuff I no longer wanted to my parents and sisters. My dad was really the only one who ever bought anything, but I had customers, at least.

I remember when I opened one such store, I gave everyone a credit card with, I think, five bucks on it. Everyone came by, but, as usual, my dad was the only one who purchased anything. He bought this little Doug pen from Doug’s 1st Movie that I had gotten in my Happy Meal (why do I remember this??). He used his credit card and went on his merry way. Well, being the avid nine-year-old entrepreneur that I was, I sent him a bill a few days later, complete with interest he had accrued. I don’t remember if he ever actually paid me (he did pay for the Happy Meal, after all), but it’s a fun memory.

Now that I’m a little older (but maybe not more business savvy), I am so excited to open up a new shop: RWR Designs. I wanted something that went along with my blog name (Running with Random), but that effectively showcased what I sell: my designs. I have always loved hand-lettering and gotten a lot of praise for my handwriting (I think it’s because I’m left-handed, but maybe not). As of right now, I am selling hand-lettered prints that would be perfect for hanging around your home. It would be awesome to expand someday if it’s a success, but I’m starting small.

Anyway, I am so excited to introduce my new shop to each of you and I hope that you’ll check it out. Since it’s brand new, it’s obviously very small, but I’m excited to add more prints each day to my collection. I also apologize for the lighting/terrible quality of the photos–our new apartment has terrible lighting, sadly. It’s a work in progress, for sure, but I am excited to see what comes of this new shop!

It is my sincere hope that you’ll check out my tiny shop and maybe purchase something someday. I have tons of ideas for new pieces, so make sure to check in often to see if there’s anything you’d be interested in. I am also taking requests, so, if there’s a particular quote or Bible verse or song lyric you’d love for me to hand-letter for you, just let me know, and I will do my best to make it happen!

Now, enough talk. You can check out RWR Designs here, and, until August 31, you can use the coupon code RWRGRANDOPENING for 5% off your first order {expired}!

What sort of things did you do as a child that you see in yourself today? Did you ever open a shop on the foot of your bed, or was that just me?

  1. You did those by hand? Amazing! I really could have used you today with some chalkboard lettering I had to do, lol.

Did I ever have a store? I had a “school”, and a “library”, but I think the library was just my anal way of trying to make sure books were returned to me. Plus I thought libraries were the coolest place ever! #nerdsisters

    • I did! I have done a lot of chalkboards for people, too! I remember your Rainy Day Library because you had the little stamp in the front of all your books. We really were seriously nerdy kids–it just makes sense that we are nerdy adults, too! #nerdsandproud

  2. Those look like prints even though I totally know how awesome your handwriting is! Do you think you will take requests for other quotes/monograms in the future?

  3. My favorite is the It Is Well. That’s always been one of my favorite songs. You should do a version of You Are My Sunshine. I love you, Ms. Entrepreneur!

  4. You are rdiculous…ly talented :) It’s totes just because you’re a lefty 😉 As soon as I can decide what I want, I plan to be a loyal customer! Is there a best friend discount? 😉

  5. So beautiful! I can’t believe how artistic you are and how I write just as messy as my 3rd grade boy. I love you! You go girl.

  6. I’m just WOW’ed by this! You have the best handwriting. I truly have the worst. Ask Jess. I won the award for worst writing in the company. Uh yeah…. 😉

Congrats and praying that this takes off in a great way for you!
